Matteo Apicella, Director of Sales for Italy and International Markets at MPS Engineering, shares his journey within the company, the goals achieved, and the ambitious challenges that await the group in the near future.
How did your journey with MPS Engineering begin?
I joined MPS Engineering about two years ago, immediately sharing, along with the CTO, Industrial Expert Massimo Pannullo, a clear and ambitious vision for the future of the company. We set challenging objectives, focusing not only on consolidating our market presence but also on leading innovation in the industrial automation sector.
What is your role, and what strategies are you implementing?
As Director of Sales for Italy and international markets, my primary goal has been to build and organize a team of professionals capable of working as both technical and commercial consultants. This team enables us to support clients in selecting the best solutions for their needs and to expand our presence in new markets.
Our focus is on the design and supply of automated systems for logistics, a rapidly growing sector. Automation is revolutionizing goods management by speeding up processes, reducing operational costs, and improving workplace safety.
What sets MPS Engineering apart in the automated logistics landscape?
Innovation and customization are our cornerstones. Thanks to cutting-edge technologies and the expertise of our technical team, we can offer tailored solutions for each client. This approach allows us to optimize workflows, reduce management costs, and provide continuous support through an efficient after-sales service.
Our product range is extensive and includes solutions such as:
- The MaxRaptor shuttle, for advanced racking system management.
- Maxvert vertical storage systems, which we are further enhancing.
- Maxcompact automated compactable storage systems, along with highly efficient solutions like stacker cranes and miniload systems.
What milestones have you achieved recently?
The past few years have been remarkable. We have participated in major international trade fairs, such as those in Stuttgart and Milan, in addition to numerous training and promotional events throughout Italy. This has strengthened our positioning and expanded our network.
In 2024, we achieved a major milestone: transitioning from an SRL to SPA Group, marking an evolution that reflects the company’s growth and stability. Additionally, we recorded a significant increase in sales, confirming the success of our strategies.
What are your prospects for 2025?
The coming year will be equally challenging. We aim to:
- Strengthen existing partnerships.
- Further expand our sales network, targeting a 30% increase in revenue in Italy and 10% abroad, focusing on strategic markets such as the Americas, Canada, Spain, and the Balkans.
- Introduce new offerings in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Moreover, we are working on an upgrade to the MaxVert range and the establishment of a new production facility, which will represent a further step forward in our ability to innovate and meet market demands.
With a clear vision and unwavering commitment to innovation, MPS Engineering continues to be a benchmark in the automated logistics sector. The challenges ahead are ambitious, but the determination of Matteo Apicella and his team promises a successful 2025.
